Boarding Your Pet at
Skyline
Nationally acclaimed as an AKC breeding kennel, Skyline
Kennels expanded to include boarding facilities. With
our many years of experience caring for our own dogs, caring
for your dog or cat just seemed a natural direction to go.
Under Don’s watchful eye as a professional trainer, you can
rest-assured that your animal will have the very best of
care. Our location, just off Route 81, makes us convenient
to almost anywhere. Our prices are both competitive and
affordable. If transportation or timing is an obstacle, we
offer a pick-up and delivery service for an additional fee.
What matters most, however, is our love and compassion for
animals in our care. Boarding can be stressful on both pets
and owners. We work hard to make sure your pet is as
comfortable as possible while you’re away and, therefore,
that you can rest a little easier knowing they’re in good
hands.
Physical Description of the Kennels:
Our kennels and play area are cleaned and sanitized daily.
We have multiple sizes of kennels to accommodate dogs as
large as St. Bernard's and dogs and/or cats as small as
Chihuahuas. Our facility is climate controlled; cool in the
summer and warm in the winter. We have radiant heat
throughout the floors of the kennels, making it nice and
toasty year-round. We have a fully fenced in area. Depending
upon your preference, your dog can either run loose while
out or be walked on a leash around the area. The surface is
safe, clean, and designed to keep fleas, ticks, and
parasites at a bare minimum. We have lots of bouncy toys,
balls, and fun playthings to keep the dogs occupied and
stimulated while they’re out. In the warm weather, a wading
pool is provided for those that like to splash and do a
little sunbathing.
What to Expect
When you call to make a reservation for your animal (and
please give us as much advance notification as possible),
we’ll ask some basic questions such as your name, address,
phone number, and the name of your pet. We’ll want to know
the date you plan to drop your pet off for boarding and the
date you plan to pick him/her up.
We have flexible hours for drop-off and pick-up, and we’ll
work with you to come up for times that are good for us
both. Once a time is set, please try to keep to that time as
closely as you can to avoid encounters with the comings and
goings of other pets.
At the time you make the reservation, we will give you the
total cost of the stay. If your animal requires medication,
it will be administered per your instructions for an
additional daily fee.
Please bring payment in cash when you drop your pet off for
boarding. We will also ask for an emergency contact number
as well as the name of your vet for our records. And, please
note… we will not release your pet to anyone other than you
unless you specifically give us permission to do so.
You are welcome and encouraged to bring along a favorite
toy, chewie, or bed / blanket - anything you think will make
your pet more comfortable while you’re away. Since it is
stressful for them, please bring their own food to avoid
having to make a digestive change that could upset his/her
stomach. And, unless you tell us otherwise, your pet will
get a biscuit or special treat from us a few times a day.
Our Requirements
For the well-being and protection of all our boarders, the
following stipulations apply: Please keep in mind that these
precautions are for your pet’s protection as well as the
other animals we are boarding.
Absolutely
no animals will be taken in for boarding without proof of
the necessary immunizations. You must provide us with a
record from your vet stating proof of rabies, DHLLP, and
bordetella (kennel cough).
No
female dog will be accepted if she is in heat.
No
ill animals will be accepted.
No
animals with a flea/tick infestation will be accepted.
So, there you have it. We don’t take the care of your
beloved pet lightly. Having dogs ourselves, we are very
aware of the concerns we have when we’re away from them.
Knowing that, we pledge to do our very best to make the
kenneling experience as comfortable and stress-free as
possible - for you both.
